Message from the Principal

United in love, truth and courage

Matthew Garton (Principal)

Welcome to St John the Apostle Primary School. Thank you for taking the time to learn about how we can support your child in their first years of formal education.

St John the Apostle is a co-educational Catholic primary school that reflects the charism of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart order (MSC). The MSC spirituality is 'to be on earth the heart of God' and we share that same aspiration. 'God is love' (1 John 4:8) and everything we do for students and their families is underpinned by this. We recognise that each young person is unique and we share the responsibility to nurture their growth into responsible, caring and highly capable young people. Our community strives to offer a safe and caring learning environment and provides opportunities and challenges that assist all students in creating a positive future for themselves and their community.

Active partnerships and collaboration are vital in supporting our students. We work closely with parents and parish to support their learning. Parents are involved as they celebrate their child’s successes and engagement in school life. The parish continues to be a great source of faith for us all, particularly during preparation for the Sacraments.

It is a privilege to be Principal at St John the Apostle. I always speak with pride about our vibrant and friendly learning community, especially its dedicated staff, welcoming parents and 350 engaged students.

We welcome your further interest in our community. Please feel free to call to organise a time for our student leaders to take you on a personal tour of the school. I am also available to discuss how St John the Apostle Primary School can best support your child's future learning.
